PAINTINGS REPRESENTING THE WORK OF
SYSTEMATIC BOTANISTS
AT THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN (1995-2000)

by

Scott A. Mori & Michael Rothman

From 12 December 1995 to 31 December 2000, I (Scott Mori) was the Director of the Institute of Systematic Botany at The New York Botanical Garden. One of my projects was the organization and commission of paintings to reflect the research interests of full-time curators at the Garden during that time. The paintings were prepared by Michael Rothman.

The purpose of this web site is to allow others to appreciate the 13 curator paintings and four additional paintings created for this project. The link from each curator's name listed below will take you to a page with a picture of the curator, a statement of their research interests, and a short explanation of their painting. A link to each of the curator's paintings is found at the bottom of their page. A link at the bottom of the image of the painting leads to a page in which the plants and animals found in the painting are identified.

The curator's name at the top of the curator page is linked to The New York Botanical Garden Homepage of the Curator.
