Flora Neotropica Monographs publishes treatments with a minimum of 50 species. This minimum is waived for families that contain fewer than 50 species. However, treatments below the level of family that treat less than 50 species may be published jointly with another treatment.

To contribute a taxonomic treatment to Flora Neotropica, a written request must be submitted to the appropriate director (see addresses below). The request must include

1.  The full address, telephone number, fax number, and email address of the principle author,
2.  The names and addresses of collaborators,
3.  The generic names and estimated number of species of the taxa to be treated, and
4.  The estimated completion date.
