Heimioporus anguiformis (Heim) E. Horak

Originally described from Papua New Guinea, the type specimen was preserved and lodged in the cryptogamic collections in the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, France (PC). This specimen can no longer be found.

This image of the color plate is reproduced from that which appeared in the protologue published in Heim, R. 1965. Les champignons associés a la folie de kuma: étude descriptive et iconographie. Cahiers du Pacifique 7: 7-65, and is copyright by them. I am grateful to B. Buyck for guidance on citation.

Based on the illustrations and the protologue, it appears to be an extraordinary member of the genus.
