Clavulinopsis fusiformis (Sow.:Fries) Corner

Photograph by R. E. Halling ©, 1996

This bright yellow coral fungus is hard to miss in the montane oak forests. The fasciculate tufts of simple basidiomata can be locally common at some localities. Sometimes placed in Clavaria or Ramariopsis (see Mycologia 70: 660-671. 1978).
