Tuesday-Friday
Session l: 10-11 a.m.
Session ll. 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Fee per group: $85

Gardening Workshops introduce students to the hands-on excitement of growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Depending on the season, students explore different display gardens, where they walk through a, magical bean tunnel or indulge in the sensory delights of the herb collection. Activity stations provide opportunities for students to learn the basics of good gardening, the benefits of compost, and proper planting techniques.

How Does Your Garden Grow in Fall?
Fall is a flurry of activity when it comes to gardening. Students explore the life cycle of plants and discover what plants need to grow as they help prepare the Howell Family Garden for winter. They taste vegetables; smell herbs and flowers; sow seeds for cold winter crops; and helps prepare garden beds for spring planting. Each student pots up a plant to take home.

How Does Your Garden Grow in Spring?
Spring is a time for rejuvenation and recreating the Howell Family Garden for another growing season. Students investigate what plants need to grow as they prepare the soil form planting, sow seeds, weed, dig for worms, and hunt for wildflowers in the meadow. Each student pots up a plant to take home.

How Does Your Garden Grow in Summer?
Summer is a time of great beauty and growth in the garden. Come visit the Howell Family Garden in it’s full glory and enjoy the giant sunflowers, fragrant honeysuckle, and savory herbs. Activities include planting summer crops, making compost, digging for worms, and tasting fresh vegetables. Each child pots up a plant to take home
