About Inquiry

Children learn best by doing. This is the philosophy behind inquiry-based education, which models the learning process used by scientists. Through the scientific method scientists learn new concepts by observing nature, questioning things they do not understand, and seeking answers. Children are naturally curious about the world, and should be encouraged to look, touch, explore and discover their surroundings. In the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, students are encouraged to find examples of concepts learned in the classroom;to ask questions; and to investigate new ideas.
