In the Everett Children's Adventure Garden
Sure, chocolate and vanilla are delicious, but where do they come from? From the wonderful world of plants! Explore the origins of these two tasty treats at the Adventure Garden.
Did you know that vanilla comes from the seedpod of an orchid plant? Inside the Steere Discovery Center, investigate vanilla beans with a microscope, do a vanilla jellybean taste test, and take in the heavenly scents.
Grind and taste seeds from the cacao tree and taste a cocoa drink you’ve never tasted before—the kind the ancient Mayas made. Experiment with adding spices like chili powder and cinnamon to make your own mouth-watering recipe.
Venture into the “rain forest corner” to see where chocolate and vanilla grow and play a Mayan Marketplace game. Don’t miss all the flavorful fun!
