Witness the Muse of the Botanical Artist
If every seed is a story, then every garden is a work of art bringing stories to life. But what about a seed’s cultural story—the long history of those who selected it, kept it alive, and passed it on? To help tell these fertile and creative stories, Hudson Valley Seed Library commissions original art for a select number of unique seed packs in its annual catalog.
An exhibition in the Ross Gallery, Art of the Heirloom celebrates this delightful intersection of art and garden. For the 2015 collection, over 400 artists applied for only 16 available commissions. Featured artists range from the up-and-coming to the world-renowned, working in watercolor, collage, oil, letterpress, embroidery, and more.
Included in any All-Garden Pass.
Exhibitions in the Ross Gallery are made possible by the Arthur and Janet Ross Fund.
