Profile

Don recommends and supervises plant health care activities and integrated pest management strategies for all of the Garden’s living collections. He is responsible for analyzing and diagnosing pests, diseases, and other plant health issues and for prescribing responses and treatments. These treatments may include changing cultural conditions; managing soils, nutrients, and fertility; and mechanical, biological, and chemical pest and disease control. Don has taken the lead in the use of beneficial organisms to contain and control insect pests. He trains and supervises Horticulture staff in all aspects of plant health care including monitoring and treatment techniques.

Tuesday - Sunday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Closed most Mondays, Thanksgiving & Christmas Day.
