Jessica Schuler
Manager of the Thain Family Forest
Profile
Jessica oversees the overall health, maintenance, and management of the Forest. She coordinates the work of staff and hundreds of volunteers to remove invasive plants and restore those areas with native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. She conducts research in the Forest, including studies that monitor change, collaborates with visiting researchers; and assists in the development of educational programming and interpretation such as the Natural History of the Garden project. She has taken a leading role working with staff and designers on the restoration of Forest trails while preserving existing vegetation and habitat for wildlife. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Plant Science. She started working at the Garden in 2005 as Associate Curator of Woody Plants, then Curator of Woody Plants.
