As Director of Bronx Green-Up and Community Horticulture, Ursula Chanse oversees the program’s horticulture certificate programs, workshops, and technical assistance for community gardeners, school groups, and other organizations interested in improving urban neighborhoods through greening projects. She and her staff actively assist in planning and planting of numerous neighborhood and school gardens in the Bronx and collaborate with Bronx and New York City greening and community organizations to support many open space initiatives.
