At any time of year (and without bringing your passport) you can explore a tropical rain forest, a cactus-filled desert, and an ever-changing landscape of flowers and foliage. All of these remarkable plant worlds live right here, inside the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. This Victorian-style glasshouse is home to A World of Plants, a permanent exhibition that takes you on an "ecotour" around the world and across the ages. Through 11 distinct habitats--including two types of rain forest; deserts of the Americas and Africa; and aquatic and carnivorous plant displays--A World of Plants tells the story of Earth's beautiful and indispensable plant life, plus offers a glimpse of the valuable work of the Garden's scientists. The Conservatory also hosts the Garden's seasonal flower shows and exhibitions, including The Orchid Show and Holiday Train Show. Opened in 1902, the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory is a New York City Landmark--and a "must see" destination all year-round.
