Eat, Shop and Do Good
Life's little indulgences come with a side of ''doing good'' at the Shop in the Garden and the Garden's cafés.
There's more to life than work and play. There's also lunch and shopping! And at The New York Botanical Garden, we can help you with at least three out of four.
The Shop in the Garden is full of a beautifully curated selection of must-have items for the garden, library, kitchen, and every other room in your home, both inside and out. Exclusive reproductions of prints from the Rare Book Collection of the Mertz Library, adorning everything from greeting cards to tote bags, posters, dishes and neckties, let you take a little piece of the Garden home with you.
And while you're beautifying your environs, treating yourself to something gorgeous, or selecting the perfect gift for your most beloved friend, you're doing good, too. Every purchase at the Shop in the Garden helps support the Garden's pursuit of excellence in horticulture, science and education.
You can also do good while indulging at the Garden's two cafés as well. Both the Garden Café and the Leon Levy Visitor Center Café feature delicious soups, salads and sandwiches with a commitment to seasonal, local food served in a sustainable manner. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are always available. And whenever possible, ingredients for the Cafe's daily selections are selected from the Garden's weekly, seasonal Greenmarket. The Garden Café, picturesquely situated near the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory also offers hot entrées, grilled paninis, a daily quesadilla, and other items from the grill.
So after a fun-filled hike in the Forest, after taking time to stop and smell the roses, after you've leaf-peeped until your heart's content, after pulling up a bench in the sunshine, and after gasping at a display of extraordinary flowers, take a moment to sit back, relax and marvel at just how much fun you had with a delightful tart, a locally brewed beer or a cup of steaming hot chocolate. A day at The New York Botanical Garden is so much more than just another day in the City, it's a complete adventure for the whole family.
