Halloween Hoorah
In the Everett Children's Adventure Garden.
Saturday, October 9--Sunday, October 31

Jack-o'-lanterns, costumes, and trick or treating--Halloween is a great time to be a kid--and at The New York Botanical Garden's annual Halloween Hoorah, it's a great time to be an adult, too.
So scoop up your favorite little ghouls and goblins and come marvel at the 500 pumpkins carved and sculpted by Michael Anthony Natiello (the creator of the annual Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze at the historic Van Cortlandt Manor). The pumpkins--carved into flowers, scarecrows, snakes, and spiders--line the pathways of the Everett Children's Adventure Garden by day, and are just the tip of the spooky fun.
And this just in! Beginning Friday, October 22 and running through Sunday, October 31, the Garden will host an unforgettable display of three of the largest pumpkins grown in the United States this year—each weighing over 1,500 pounds! Giant Pumpkins, a showcase of champions, will delight guests in the Leon Levy Visitor Center.
Each weekend will also feature different activities, a Halloween Parade, and much more, including:

Leaf Rubbing
Decorate your treat bag with a sassafras leaf rubbing. Collect fallen leaves, and other goodies along the trail through the Adventure Garden.
Creepy, Crawly Critter Exploration
Take a magnifying glass to the edge of the log terrarium and get an up-close look at what decays at ground level.
Apple Cider Pressing
Weekends, 2–5:30 p.m.
Help press freshly harvested apples into cider. You'll be thirsty for a taste of this cool refreshment!
