Brian Boom, Ph.D., will discuss the Garden's century-long engagement with the study and conservation of Cuba's amazingly diverse plants and ecosystems. Following the presentation will be a behind-the-scenes tour of the William and Lynda Steere Herbarium to examine historic and modern collections from Cuba, including some of the nearly three dozen species of Cuban orchids that are at risk of extinction.
