I grew up in the projects on Pelham Parkway, and spent many hours visiting the NYBG. I offer a poem here to welcome Emily to one of my favorite retreats:

        Spring Fling

Wind will host
this late spring event-

with breezy tunes
that whistle through
bent Daffodils, now spent.

Hollyhocks will rock and roll
when Wind goes riffing by.
Wisteria will lift her leaves
and let her fringes fly.

Lilies will let down their hair,
to gently sway and shake.
I worry when the high notes hit,
if any stems will brea
                                    k.
