It is beautiful here today. Just in case you can’t make it out of your office to hop a train and come up to the Bronx, I thought I’d take a walk and snap some pictures for you. It’s more than just beautiful out, too. According to one birder I met today, it’s also prime warbler migrating time. As he put it, the next two weeks will be “warbler heaven.” So whether you’re a birder, photographer, gardener, or walker, now is the time to come and visit the Garden!

It is prime time for taking flower pictures at the Garden. So grab your camera and come visit!

Magnolia Way: just a few more days, and all this gorgeousness will be gone.

The "beach" house is set amid a sea of muscari in the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden.

These beautiful cherry blossoms are just north of the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden.

Spring's first lilacs; hyacinth lilacs in the Lilac Collection directly north of the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden.

Plants through the plastic of a temporary greenhouse in front of the Nolen Greenhouses for Living Collections.

Daffodil Hill

Doesn't this bench on Daffodil Hill look like a heavenly place to sit in the sun?

As I was taking this photo on the Seasonal Walk, I asked a gentleman who was also taking pictures if he was getting any good shots today. He replied "If you can't get a good picture here, you better give up the hobby."

This was the most magical thing I saw on my two hour walk through the Garden today. So special. So beautiful. So ephemeral.

The Rock Garden is truly extraordinary at this time of year. It is full of fascinating, beautiful, tiny, quirky blooms and tinkling streams. It's just so pretty.

More from the Rock Garden.

Even the visitors are getting in the spring spirit. I love this girl's daffodil yellow shirt.

I love the NY Botanic Garden, looking at these pictures I want to go and walk around the Alpine Garden again. Its is one of those ‘great gardens’ you don’t forget.
I make a point of visiting the Botanical Garden February for the spectacular sunsets, and then Spring, Summer, and Fall!!!
Well. I can’t believe I missed the peak time for the magnolia trees. Was there yesterday and not too many petals left. But your pics help me feel like I was there.
Luckily I just had to turn around to see some other gorgeous tree or plant
popping out into bloom. Just what great gardens like NYBG are perfect for in spring.
Ann, congratulations for the beautiful photos! I’d like we have a incredible park like this here, maybe who knows, some day I can visit it for real!
