Spring Break Activities at the Garden for Kids and Families
Spring Break @ The Orchid Show
The Adventure Garden comes alive with a cast of characters only a garden can showcase. As part of The Orchid Show: On Broadway, kids will love exploring the Showstoppers of Spring, a fun, hands-on, fully interactive exploration of nature's theater in the Adventure Garden. Don't miss Broadway Day on April 19 where members of Broadway's most popular shows have created unique interactive programming exclusively for the Garden. Have fun with activities from Broadway's Billy Elliot, Addams Family, Million Dollar Quartet, and more!
Dig, Plant, Grow! Wake Up, Garden!
In the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden
Daily, 1:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Children and families learn about plants and the natural world through hands-on gardening at this one-and-a-half acre site. Each afternoon children--with help from their parents, volunteers, and staff--are encouraged to dig, weed, compost, plant, tend, and harvest in garden plots. These ongoing gardening activities are complemented by a changing roster of programs that encourage children to explore seasonal garden-related themes.
