Our <em>kiku<\/em> bid a fond <em>&#8220;adieu<\/em>&#8221; as they made room in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/gardens\/conservatory\/\">Enid A. Haupt Conservatory<\/a> for New York&#8217;s most cherished winter tradition. And did I mention the leaves on the trees? Fall had arrived&#8211;loud, clear, and bursting with the warmest hues.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Busse and his team at Applied Imagination are nothing if they&#8217;re not diligent (and brilliantly creative). Setting up the <em>Holiday Train Show<\/em> takes no small amount of time or ingenuity, and for the last 20 years they have continued to produce one of New York&#8217;s most delightful holiday experiences. This year, we set up a time-lapse camera in the Conservatory so our readers could get a better idea of just how the whole process goes down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GNyvq3TLEDs?feature=player_embedded\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"567\" height=\"346\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Plant Talk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/blogs\/plant-talk\/2011\/11\/exhibit-news\/hts\/changing-seasons-in-the-conservatory\/\"><strong>Changing Seasons in the Conservatory<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Our literary audio tours project drew artists from around the city to tell the story of the natural world in prose and verse. November saw the likes of <a title=\"Plant Talk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/blogs\/plant-talk\/2011\/11\/video\/poetic-inspiration-in-the-forest\/\">Camille Rankine<\/a>, <a title=\"Plant Talk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/blogs\/plant-talk\/2011\/11\/around-the-garden\/replica-and-not\/\">Paul Lisicky<\/a>, and <a title=\"Plant Talk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/blogs\/plant-talk\/2011\/11\/video\/poetry-and-prose-at-the-garden-with-literary-audio-tour\/\">Hosannah Asuncion<\/a> adding thoughtful flavor to our collections through their own distinctly different inspirations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UghdACKr-0k?feature=player_embedded\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"567\" height=\"346\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Plant Talk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/blogs\/plant-talk\/2011\/11\/video\/poetry-and-prose-at-the-garden-with-literary-audio-tour\/\"><strong>Poetry and Prose at the Garden with Literary Audio Tours<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Member and friend of the Garden Patricia Gonzalez has a long-lived passion for birds&#8211;particularly raptors&#8211;and you might be surprised at just how varied the avian population is here at the NYBG. As a Bronx native, Pat has followed the lives of one particular pair of red-tailed hawks <a title=\"Plant Talk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/blogs\/plant-talk\/2011\/02\/wildlife\/a-bronx-red-tail\/\">through tribulation and hilarity<\/a>. And did I mention there were banjos? Yeah. In November, the pair penned a piece for us that better explained the work they&#8217;re doing abroad.
