I\u2019d like to do more work like that or begin selling my own art,\u201d says Abbey. I absolutely loved her advice and techniques,\u201d noted Abbey. Meeting and getting to know well-established artists and other students was also valuable for Abbey. \u201cThe most fun was being able to draw in class with the other students and seeing the teacher&#8217;s work!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When New Jersey artist Eileen Crowell read a magazine article that showed the artwork by a recent graduate of the <a title=\"Adult Ed\" href=\"https:\/\/conted.nybg.org:8443\/WebModule\/jsp\/ed2df.jsp?df1=static&amp;df5=discipline_bil\" target=\"_blank\">Botanical Art Certificate<\/a> program, she signed up for Drawing 1 and 2 the following day! She has been on a multiple-year journey ever since.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI noticed that the daunting <a title=\"Adult Ed\" href=\"http:\/\/conted.nybg.org:8080\/WebModule\/jsp\/ed2df.jsp?df1=bio&amp;df5=63936\">Plant Morphology<\/a> class was being offered as a summer intensive. I didn&#8217;t know what Plant Morphology was and expected not to enjoy it very much, but I couldn\u2019t have been more wrong. Dick Rauh, the instructor, created a class that I couldn&#8217;t wait to begin each morning even after a previous night of scientifically detailed assignments. Without exception, each has been professional, encouraging, and talented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Eileen, an \u201cunexpected pleasure\u201d was meeting so many like-minded people&#8211;other students who loved learning the complexities of drawing and painting botanical subjects as much as she did. \u201cWe were able to share our tiny triumphs all along the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr width=\"500\" \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>Registration for the 2012 Horticultural Therapy Summer Intensive Classes is now open, offering students the opportunity to fulfill\u2013in just a few weeks\u2013many hours required for a certificate.
