\"Strawberries<\/a>Last Wednesday saw the return of the weekly Greenmarket to the Garden. The produce that the farmers brought was surprisingly advanced: Red Jacket Farms<\/a> had cherries, Gajeski Produce<\/a> had the season’s first potatoes, and Migliorelli<\/a> had beautiful bundles of herbs just begging to be used in marinades for the grill.<\/p>\n

Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised by this, given what a strange weather year it has been. What can you expect this week? More of the same! Fruit, greens, potatoes, green garlic, spring onions, shallots, peas, pickles, cheese, eggs, and the return of the Little Bake Shop<\/a>‘s delicious pies! Also, bring your family for free health screenings from the Montefiore Office of Community Health and Wellness<\/a> and St. Barnabas Hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The weekly NYBG Greenmarket<\/a> near Tulip Tree All\u00e9e happens every Wednesday through November 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free to shop at the Greenmarket and EBT, WIC, and FMNP are accepted<\/a>. Stay tuned to Plant Talk for information on weekly special events, produce updates, and recipes for using your freshly bought produce.<\/p>\n

Good nutrition and exercise are essential to your family\u2019s health.\u00a0 This Wednesday, the Healthy Families Program<\/strong><\/a> will teach you how easy it is to lead a heart-healthy lifestyle. The MetLife Foundation Healthy Families Program<\/em> is made possible through the generous support of MetLife Foundation.<\/p>\n

Blood Pressure Screenings and Health Education<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Montefiore Office of Community Health and Wellness staff provide free blood pressure screenings and advice on healthy habits for staying well.<\/p>\n
