\"Statue<\/a>November 15 marks the long-awaited opening of NYBG’s annual Holiday Train Show<\/em>\u00ae<\/a>! This beloved holiday tradition is now in its 23rd year, with more trains, more landmarks, and more fun than ever. The\u00a0Holiday Train Show<\/em>\u00ae<\/a> is a whimsical reintroduction to New York through a mini-metropolis of landmarks both past and present.<\/p>\n

See the monumental Brooklyn Bridge and the unmistakable Statue of Liberty alongside buildings from bygone eras revived as plant-based replicas, such as the original Penn Station and the TWA Flight Center. Admire New York’s most iconic structures as you have never seen them before and explore detailed models of nearby historic gems that may be completely new to you. Throughout the exhibit, more than a dozen large-scale model trains zip along almost a quarter-mile of track, for a thrilling display for the whole family.<\/p>\n

Artist Paul Busse and his studio use natural materials such as bark, twigs, stem, fruits, seeds, and pine cones to recreate more than 150 landmarks from across the five boroughs and beyond. The Artist’s Studio<\/em><\/a> showcases how visionary artist Paul Busse and his team craft these amazing small wonders. Busse’s studio spent over 300 hours constructing the model of Kykuit, the historic Hudson Valley Rockefeller Estate that will be on view. For this year only, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1964 World’s Fair in New York,\u00a0The Artist’s Studio<\/em> features replicas of the iconic Unisphere, the observatory towers, and the Tent of Tomorrow that were at the New York State Pavilion.<\/p>\n\"Holiday<\/a>\n

The Garden’s 250 acres will be alight with festive, seasonal programs for all ages. Throughout the run of the exhibit, visitors will enjoy poetry, film, and live music. Kids can participate in wintry crafts and activities<\/a>. Be sure to come for a poetry reading<\/a> led by former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins on December 13.
