The Orchid Show: Chandeliers<\/em><\/a> is going strong, with another one of our popular Orchid Evenings<\/em><\/a> Saturday night. Saturday afternoon will also include a whole new way to complete your orchid experience, with three afternoon screenings of Vanilla: The Sacred Orchid<\/em><\/a>, a beautiful short film about the only commercial crop to come from an orchid. Orchid Show Roaming Guides – 10 a.m.\u20134 p.m.<\/strong> In the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory<\/em> Garden guides highlight parts of the permanent collection and special exhibition to add insight to your experience of The Orchid Show<\/em><\/a>. They will provide an in-depth look at rare and extraordinary orchid specimens on display.<\/p>\n

Bird Walk – 11 a.m.
\n<\/strong>Meet at the Reflecting Pool at the Leon Levy Visitor Center
\n<\/em>Bring your binoculars and tour the grounds with a National Audubon Society member to encounter and learn about the birds that call the Garden home.<\/p>\n

Ballroom\u2019s Best: Tango, Waltz, and Cha-Cha – 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
\n<\/strong>In Ross Hall
\n<\/em>Dancers from Ballet Hispanico\u2019s BHdos<\/em> troupe lead audiences through dances such as the waltz, tango, mambo and cha-cha are gorgeously costumed and choreographed. A guided instruction gives you insights on how to master the moves yourself.<\/p>\n

Winter Tree Tour with ASL interpreter – 12:30 p.m.
\n<\/strong>Meet at the Reflecting Pool at the Leon Levy Visitor Center
\n<\/em>Even in cold weather there\u2019s plenty of interest in our gardens and collections. Join us on this walking tour highlighting majestic trees in the winter landscape.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>Drop in and ask about orchid care tips. Plants in need of care will be available as testers so that you can learn how top re-pot and replant.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>Join Sonia Uyterhoeven<\/a>, Gardener for Public Education, as she discusses the basics of orchid care and how to choose and successfully grow these exotic plants.<\/p>\n

The LuEsther T. Mertz Library Building Tour – 2:30 p.m.
\n<\/strong>Meet at the Orchid Rotunda in the Library Building
\n<\/em>Join us for\u00a0 on a guided tour of this historically significant structure. Learn about how it complements our magnificent landscape and discover how this space is used to promote and advocate for the plant kingdom.<\/p>\n

Film Screening: Vanilla: The Sacred Orchid<\/em> – 3, 3:30, & 4 p.m.
\n<\/strong>In Ross Hall
\n<\/em>Learn the intriguing life process\u2014from flower to pantry\u2014of the world\u2019s favorite flavor. This scenic film examines the full year-cycle of this spice from Veracruz, Mexico. The orchid is still cultivated by the same indigenous people who have been growing it for centuries. (Run time: 26 minutes)<\/p>\n

Orchid Evenings – 6:30\u20139 p.m.
\n<\/strong>In the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory<\/em> Enjoy a cocktail while viewing The Orchid Show<\/em><\/a> and its thousands of spectacular flowers.
