\"NYBG<\/a>This weekend, NYBG kicks off the spring blooming season with three days of Orchid Show<\/em> programs, brisk walks, and interactive family fun! That’s right, we are open on Monday, April 6<\/strong>\u2014so come celebrate the holiday and share the Garden with your loved ones!<\/p>\n

Dig! Plant Grow!<\/strong> is back, just in time for kids to enjoy playing outside again, with a new session entitled Wake Up, Garden! <\/strong>The Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden is filled with interactive gardening fun, while in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, Little Landscapes continues through Monday. Monday promises to be absolutely gorgeous, so we have two brisk walking tours scheduled to enhance your experience of the Native Plant Garden and the Thain Family Forest, the two areas of the Garden that best showcase the beauty of our region at all times of year. Meanwhile, The Orchid Show: Chandeliers<\/em><\/a> continues through April 19, so don’t miss your chance to see this soaring floral display and enjoy the fragrance of thousands of orchids filling the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory<\/a>. Only four Orchid Evenings<\/em><\/a> remain if you’re looking to plan the perfect evening with someone special.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>Garden guides highlight parts of the permanent collection and special exhibition to add insight to your experience of The Orchid Show<\/em><\/a>. They will provide an in-depth look at rare and extraordinary orchid specimens on display.<\/p>\n

Bird Walk – 11 a.m.
\n<\/strong>Meet by the Reflecting Pool
\n<\/em>Bring your binoculars and tour the grounds with a National Audubon Society<\/a> member to encounter and learn about the birds that call the Garden home.<\/p>\n

Bronx Arts Ensemble Family Concert:\u00a0Hansel and Gretel – <\/em>12 & 1:30 p.m.
\n<\/strong>In the<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>Everett Children\u2019s Adventure Garden
\n<\/em><\/a>Hansel and Gretel sing, dance, juggle, and do slapstick to tell the famous story of the pair meeting the Witch in the forest with a wonderful gingerbread house. Animated actors perform to live music played by the Bronx Arts Ensemble<\/a> musicians. The audience will be introduced to each instrument and join in the adventure!<\/p>\n

Join us at upcoming family-friendly cultural activities and programs as part of \u201cIt\u2019s Your Garden<\/em><\/a>,\u201d a program of community outreach presented by JPMorgan Chase & Co. Children\u2019s activities, demonstrations, live performances, and more are all part of the lineup this spring and summer for \u201cIt\u2019s Your Garden<\/em>.\u201d And that\u2019s not all\u2014information about access to career training opportunities, job openings, and educational programs for kids, teens, and adults will also be available.<\/p>\n
