It\u2019s time for Salad Days at the <a title=\"Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/gardens\/family-garden\">Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden<\/a>! Shakespeare called a person\u2019s youth \u201csalad days\u201d for a reason: these are the sweetest days of the year, when everything seems possible. Especially a delicious salad! We\u2019re in our last week of this wonderful program, which ends on Friday, June 5.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about all the crops in our plots, dig in with the staff in the Family Garden. We\u2019re excited about our first harvest of the season and celebrating salads in all sorts of ways. Visitors can create a paper plate salad to learn more about plant parts as we make art. Measure and mix the dried herbs you need to take home a salad dressing to finish and enjoy at home. Get your hands dirty with us as we continue to plant spring season crops like lettuce, radish, scallions, kohlrabi, spinach, and peas. Help take care of the garden by watering, and explore the soil while digging.<\/p>\n<p>Another area of the Family Garden just starting to grow in are the Mario Batali Chefs&#8217; Kitchen Gardens. This season, we\u2019re growing the vegetables featured on each course of a delicious Italian dinner.
