\"Enid<\/a>If you’re looking for a weekend escape, come to your urban oasis at NYBG. This weekend is the final opportunity to experience Wild Medicine in the Tropics<\/em><\/a> in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory\u2013housing 11 distinct habitats from around the world.\u00a0When you come for your visit, you may notice some work being done at the Conservatory, that’s because we’re gearing up for this year’s Orchid Show: Orchidelirium<\/em><\/a>\u2013the most thrilling exhibition yet\u2013opening on February 27.<\/p>\n

And there’s plenty to do with the kids at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden<\/a>. Take the little ones on a winter adventure where they’ll learn about the wonders of plants and animals in winter with fun activities such as creating bark rubbings, counting tree rings, and crafting a bud necklaces.<\/p>\n

It may be winter, but the Garden is still thriving with life.<\/a> Tour the grounds with expert guides and learn about the beauty and the majesty of winter trees. This week’s Winter Trees tour will also be accompanied by an ASL interpreter. Continue reading for the full schedule for this weekend at NYBG.

Bird Walk – 11 a.m.<\/strong>
\n Meet at the Reflecting Pool at the Leon Levy Visitor Center.<\/em>
\nBring your binoculars and walk the Garden grounds with a bird expert. You\u2019ll search for our feathered friends and learn more about bird-friendly habitats, passage birds, and those that make a permanent home at the Garden.<\/p>\n

Winter Trees Tour – 12:30 p.m. with ASL Interpreter<\/strong>
\n Meet at the Reflecting Pool at the Leon Levy Visitor Center<\/em>
\nEven in cold weather there\u2019s plenty of interest in our gardens and collections. Join one of our Tour Guides for this walking tour highlighting majestic trees in the winter landscape.<\/p>\n

Conservatory Tour – 2:30 p.m.<\/strong>
\n Meet at the entrance to the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory<\/em>
\nExplore the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory<\/a>, an acre of plants under glass, with one of the Garden’s Guides.
