Colston Burrell\" src=\"http:\/\/www.timberpress.com\/images\/authors\/large\/burrell_c.jpg\" alt=\"C. Colston Burrell\" width=\"160\" height=\"224\" align=\"right\" \/>teacher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timberpress.com\/author\/colston_burrell\/1244\" target=\"_blank\">C. Colston Burrell<\/a> will talking about &#8221;Native Plants and Ecological Design.&#8221; Burrell will explore what actually makes a plant &#8221;native,&#8221; the definition of ecological gardening, and the issues surrounding sustainable landscape design.<\/p>\n<p>Last, but certainly not least, <a href=\"http:\/\/theselby.com\/7_21_10_AnnieEagleSt\/\" target=\"_blank\">Annie Novak<\/a>, urban farming evangelist and director of The New York Botanical Garden&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/edu\/childrens_garden.php\" target=\"_self\">Children&#8217;s Gardening Program<\/a> will &#8221;Raise The Roof!&#8221; on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nybg.org\/plan_your_visit\/planyourvisit_results.php?curr=20110317&amp;y=2011&amp;m=3&amp;date_from=03\/17\/2011&amp;date_to=03\/17\/2011\" target=\"_blank\">Thursday, March 17<\/a>.\u00a0 Novak is the founder and director of <a href=\"http:\/\/growingchefs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Growing Chefs<\/a> field-to-fork education program, and the co-founder of <a href=\"http:\/\/rooftopfarms.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eagle Street Rooftop Farm<\/a> in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and will discuss the challenges, successes, and lessons learned from farming the skyline.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Annie Novak.
