Thallus thin, corticolous, epiphloeodal, continuous and ± uniform to minutely irregularly thickened, mineral gray, black specked and slightly shiny, thinly corticate, K+ yellowish, P-. Apothecia ± evenly dispersed across thallus, sessile, without thalline rim, quite raised, naked, short bacilliform, mostly straight to slightly curved, margins entire, closed below, hymenium inspersed, lips convergent so disk not exposed, hypohymenium pale-colorless, paraphyses ca. 2µ thick, eseptate, capilliform. Spores I+ blue, 8-10 locular, 13x47-50µ, 8/ascus, ± thin-walled. No lichen substances.

Also examined: B 25708, hymenium not inspersed; B 33130, with very small spores (3.5-8x25u) and apothecia (0.08x0.3 mm), hymenium not inspersed. B 25467 has norstictic acid, very small spores (3.5-8x25µ) and apothecia (0.08x0.3 mm), hymenium not inspersed.
