Thallus corticolous, continuous, endo?-phloeodal and quite thin, mostly taking the color and texture of the underlying bark, and so greenish to brown to reddish brown, irregularly roughened by thick cartilaginous thallus growths, cortex prosoplectenchymatous. Ascomata sessile, mostly short-bacilliform to oryzaeform, 1-5 mm long and evenly ca. 0.6 mm wide, not branching completely covered with thick powdery-granular white veil, dispersed evenly but widely across thallus, not at all crowded, C+ red (salazinic acid) veil. Disks not at all exposed, constricted below. Exciple dimidiate and open below, laterally entire, striate above, carbonized; hymenium sessile upon bark, round below with exciple walls sunken into bark layers, not inspersed. Spores I-, 4-locular, 8-10x15-18µ. Salazinic acid.
