Graphidaceae of Central French Guiana

Thallus thin, epiphloeodal, corticolous, ashy to greenish and gray, ± smooth and slightly shiny, thinly corticate, with distinct prosoplectenchymatous layer, mostly smooth to slightly uneven, K+ yellowish, P-. Ascomata abundant much curved and flexuose, rarely once-branched, 1 to often 3 mm long by ca. 0.3 mm wide, ± sessile, with ± broad thalline veil below, black exciple widely exposed above (ca 0.2 mm), evenly broad, disk not exposed, striae generally easily visible above thalline veil; exciple carbonized and striate above, few 2-3 deep striae, not complete below, broadly open with thick brownish hypohymenium; hymenium not inspersed, ±reniform in cross section. Spores 8/ascus, 8-10 locular, broadly rounded at both ends, 8x28µ, I+ blue. No lichen substances.

Redgr. Includes "subimmersed" in his description and calls the apothecia only moderately flexuose.
