Poronia punctata (L.:Fr.) Fr.

Poronia, a member of the Xylariaceae, is distinguished by the stromatal shape and the occurrence on dung. Poronia punctata has a short stalk buried in the substrate. Material illustrated here came from copious quantities of horse dung deposited near the summit of Cerro de la Muerte.
