Russula "atromarginata" nom. prov.

This member of the Compactae, has crowded, marginate lamellae. It has a mild odor and taste and a white spore print. The spores are ornamented with conspicuous ridges. As with most other members of the subsection, the staining reaction starts out red and progresses to black. No other member of the subsection has crowded, marginate lamellae and spores with conspicuous ridges
