         Epiphytic shrub.  Mature stem subterete, striate, hirsute with white hairs 0.5-0.7 mm long, glabrate;  bark light brown when dry;  twigs subterete, striate to ribbed, reddish-brown when dry, densely hirsute with white hairs to 1.5 mm long;  bud scales 2, broadly ovate, mucronate, ca. 2 mm long.  Leaves coriaceous, densely imbricate, subsessile, flat, amplexicaul with the lobes slightly overlapping, ovate, 3.4-7 x 1.7-3.7 cm;  base rounded and deeply cordate;  apex acuminate; margin entire and slightly revolute;  sparsely hirsute over both surfaces of the lamina and densely hirsute proximally along the nerves beneath; 5(-9)-plinerved from near the base, midrib and inner 1-2 pairs of lateral veins impressed above and conspicuously raised beneath, outer 2 pairs of lateral veins plane to slightly raised above and beneath but obscure;  petiole subterete, broadly canaliculate above, to 2.5 x 2.5-3 mm, densely hirsute as twigs. Inflorescence with flowers solitary, surrounded at base by ca. 5 ovate, acute, marginally hirsute and glandular-fimbriate bracts to ca. 1 mm long;  floral bract ovate, acute to obtuse, ca. 1.5 mm long, sparsely short-pilose, the margin with a few glandular fimbriae;  pedicel subterete, broadening distally, ca. 3 x 1.5 mm, hirsute with white hairs ca. 1 mm long;  bracteoles located midway along pedicel, ca. 1.5 mm long, similar to floral bracts but apically acuminate and more densely pilose.  Flowers 6-merous;  hypanthium poorly differentiated, campanulate, ca. 2 x 4 mm;  calyx 8-8.5 mm long, densely hirsute all over with white hairs to ca. 0.6 mm long,  the limb broadly campanulate, smooth, ca. 6 mm long including the lobes, ca. 11 mm in diam. at the distal tip;  lobes broadly deltate, 1.2-2 x 3.5-4 mm;  sinuses broadly rounded;  corolla succulent, istratose, coriaceous when dry, cylindric-campanulate, "pale green," 14-15 x 10-11 mm, nearly glabrous at the base where covered by calyx limb, but densely short-tomentose distally with pale, reddish, flat hairs to 0.7 mm long, the lobes triangular-deltate, acute, 3-3.5 x 4 mm, sparsely short-pilose within;  stamens 12, ca. 11 mm long;  filaments 3-4 mm long, 1-1.2 mm wide at base, marginally and dorsally pilose;  anthers including tubules 9.5-10 mm long;  thecae 6.5-7.5 mm long;  tubules ca. 3 mm long, dehiscing by oval clefts ca. 1.5 mm long;  style slightly exserted, glabrous, 15-16 mm long.  Berry not seen.

         Distribution (Map).  Known only from the type which was collected along a stream with vegetation over white, sandy soil with a very thin humus layer.  Rare and probably endangered.
