Very little is known about the specifics of the life of Violet Niles Walker, with the exception that she was married to Joseph Walker and resided in Woodberry Forest, Virginia. It is clear that she was very active in horticultural groups including the American Horticulture Society and the Garden Club of Virginia.
This collection consists of primarily incoming and outgoing correspondence from Violet Niles Walker. Most correspondence is related to the propagation of lilies, seed and bulb exchange, importation of seeds, and gardening advice. Other items include plant lists, photographs, and midcellaneous notes on the subject of lilies.
