Restinga Vegetation at Monte Pascoal National Park

Restinga vegetation in Monte Pascoal National Park

Restinga vegetation grows on very acid, sandy soils with low fertility found near the coast.  Restinga vegetation usually comprises interspersed shrubs and open, grassy areas but may also be a forest.  In the Monte Pascoal National Park, the restinga is typically open with scattered clumps of shrubs and small trees.
