Introduction

The New York Botanical Garden is collaborating with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust on a botanical inventory of the Bog Brook Cove Preserve in Downeast Maine. The goal of the project is to provide a scientific assessment of the flora to enhance management, conservation and recreation programs.

The Bog Brook Cove Preserve is part of the largest tract of preserved Maine coastal habitat outside of Acadia National Park.

These pages describe the ecological communities present and provide a checklist of the species, maps and photographs (when available) of the vascular plants identified so far. Please visit the Bog Brook Cove Preserve page of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust website for information on the history, features and visitor guides to Bog Brook Cove Preserve and other preserves on the coast of Maine.
