Snow Day at the Garden

The season’s first substantial snow is always cause for excited exclamations of “oooh” and “aaaah” from staff and visitors alike, because, well, snow plus garden equals unparalleled beauty! So if you’re coming to visit the Holiday Train Show today, you’re in for an extra special treat! But for everyone else—whether trapped in a cubicle or living in warmer climes—we put together this slideshow of the most beautiful scenes seen today.

Visiting the Garden in winter is a lot of fun. Our amazing staff ensure that walkways are clear and safe, though if you plan to explore the Thain Family Forest, it’s best to wear some appropriate boots. When you’re done, warm up in the Conservatory or grab some cocoa and a bite to eat along the “Streets of New York.” As Conde Nast Traveler recently pointed out, the Botanical Garden is a wonderful place to visit in winter!
