For our part, the Garden will help you show mom how much you care during our Mothers’ Day Garden Party, offering a perfect weekend of spring activities amidst a landscape of flowers and greenery. This celebration has family fun for all ages, too, so no one has to feel left out!

Live jazz, croquet, badminton, hillside picnics and even our new giant chessboards present endless options of fun to explore. Why settle for breakfast in bed when you can give mom a day at the Garden, surrounded by a wide variety of food, drinks, and more? Click through for the full lineup of activities.

The Festival is centered on Daffodil Hill, where Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra will treat guests to live jazz music. Michael Arenella is the originator of New York’s much-beloved Jazz Age Lawn Party, so he and his seven-piece band are sure to have you all dancing. For a bite, enjoy an outdoor picnic from a variety of food trucks and samplers, including tacos, waffles, and Italian ice. There will also be food, wine, and beer available for purchase courtesy of Stephen STARR Events.

The activities continue all throughout the Garden grounds. Kids can make a Mother’s Day card or paint in watercolors along the Wetland Trail, listen to a book reading under the blossoming cherry trees, make a chalk drawing across from the Stone Mill, or pick up a birdwatching scavenger hunt sheet. There will even be a hula hoop contest!

Your family can commemorate the whole day at the Azalea Garden Overlook with a souvenir from a vintage-style photographer, so don’t be afraid to dress up. Whether your mom wants to get out and about for some springtime games or simply lounge about with a delicious drink in hand, Mothers’ Day at the Garden is one big party!
