greenmarket nybgBeginning June 18, visitors to the Garden will have a chance to bring home some healthy and delicious treats from the NYBG Greenmarket! Each Wednesday through November 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., fresh food and produce will be available near the Garden’s Mosholu Gate from local vendors, in a collaboration between NYBG and Greenmarket, a program of GrowNYC. There is no reason not to come enjoy the beautiful summer scenery while you get some shopping done!

This summer we welcome new local vendors Acevedo’s Farm and Goodale Farms, Inc., offering their fresh goods alongside our usual specialty purveyors. Come peruse a fine selection of fruit, baked goods, vegetables, and dairy from around New York State! The Greenmarket’s vendors will update their selections throughout the summer to reflect what’s in season. June is the time to pick up such fresh treats as asparagus, spinach, beets, swiss chard, radishes, scallions, and strawberries.

Throughout the summer, our Greenmarket will also host a series of Compost Q&A and Bronx Green-Up Community Gardening info tables offering useful tips for home gardening, as well as a schedule of upcoming volunteer opportunities and free workshops. The market also accepts food stamps, EBT, WIC/FMNP, and Senior coupons, in addition to cash and credit or debit cards. Free admission and parking are also available to shoppers at the Greenmarket.
