Frequently Asked Questions

How many people are considered a group?
A 15-person minimum is required to receive the group discount. Some events and exhibitions may not be discounted due to availability and demand.

Do you offer other types of guided tours other than special exhibitions?
Of course! We aim to tailor the guided tour to the group. We offer tours of all our collections, and special requests can be made for custom tours. Give us a call and let us help you craft the perfect tour.

Are there any tours that would accommodate my group who are elderly and cannot do a lot of walking?
Although all visits will entail some walking, the Garden Tram provides an overview of NYBG’s 250 acres and is ideal for inviduals with limited mobility. Complimentary wheelchairs are also available in exchange for a photo ID.

What is the difference between the Private Tram tour and the Public Tram tour?
The Public Tram Tour is included with every group admission and is an audio narrated tour of the Garden and its history. Hop off and explore at any of the nine stops. Private Tram Tours are available to groups of 30 or more at an additional fee, and are customized with a live docent and seasonal collection stops.

How many people does the Tram hold?
Each Tram can hold a maximum of 48 passengers. However, if wheelchairs or walkers need to be transported, this number will decrease.
