The annual NYBG Farmers Market season is here with fresh local food and a CSA pick-up! Visit and enjoy a variety of locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, and other specialty items to celebrate Van Gogh’s Flowers. Curated by Market Director Pascale Le Draoulec, the NYBG Farmers Market boasts 20 rotating vendors each week with two featured farms: Fino Farms and Sub Edge Farms. CSA Weekly Vegetable Pickup

18 Weeks, 18 Box Pickups

The New York Botanical Garden Farmer’s Market is delighted to welcome Sub Edge Farm to the summer 2025 season! Sub Edge Farm, located in bucolic Farmington, Connecticut will provide our CSA, as well as operating a market tent. They grow plants, vegetables, small fruit, flowers, and herbs, as well as cover crops using organic methods. They also keep a small collection of heritage breed poultry, pigs, and other farm animals. Their CSA is a fantastic way to not only enjoy fresh, organically grown produce but also to directly contribute to the sustainability of a family farm. Enjoy the convenience of picking up your share right here at the NYBG!

The share is 18 weeks beginning June 11 through October 15, 2025 for $600.00. Members will receive $40.00 worth of fruits, vegetables, and culinary herbs per pick-up along with recipes that incorporate the week’s produce. Sub Edge Farm is available to have discussions about use of EBT and SNAP to participate in the share. For more information and to sign up, email publiceducation@nybg.org. Sign-up is requested by May 31, 2025. CSA participants receive complimentary short-term parking to pick-up weekly share.

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Locally grown food supports seasonal and sustainable crop options, strengthens regional food systems, and promotes community engagement.

Research Showcase: Young Women’s Leadership School of Manhattan

Meet representatives from the Young Women’s Leadership School of Manhattan as they share their findings from the Urban Ecology Summer Research Program at NYBG! This research program engages high school and undergraduate students in hands-on environmental projects. Students will showcase four original projects rooted in urban sustainability and ecological research.

Meet & Greet: Climate Week Edition

Meet & Greet with members of NYBG Science, Bronx Green-Up, the Library, and Herbarium to learn about their work to protect biodiversity and develop nature-based solutions to climate change. Enjoy demonstrations by participating organizations NYC Bird Alliance and Big Reuse.

BronxWorks: Climate Justice Fellowship

Meet Program Coordinator Precious Butler and learn about the Climate Justice Fellowship Program offered by BronxWorks. BronxWorks is a community-based organization founded in 1972, operating with a mission to improve the economic and social well-being of individuals and families in the Bronx. With 60 locations in the Bronx, BronxWorks provides a broad spectrum of services to residents of all ages.

Know Before You Go

The Farmers Market runs every Wednesday from June 4 through October 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is located at the Tulip Tree Allée adjacent to the Mosholu Entrance. The NYBG Farmers Market accepts EBT/SNAP and offers HealthBucks. On Wednesdays, access to the Market and Garden grounds is free to NYC residents all day—just show proof of residency upon arrival.

Want to spend the day with us? The All-Garden Pass is available for purchase and includes access to our ongoing exhibition Van Gogh’s Flowers. Don’t want to lug your purchases around or have your lettuce wilt while you explore? Worry not! Market staff will keep all of your purchases on ice as part of our complimentary “Veggie Valet” service. Shop early, drop off your groceries, and pick up before you leave.

About the Farmer’s Market Director: Pascale Le Draoulec

Pascale Le Draoulec is delighted to bring her brand of farmers market to NYBG, one of her favorite places in New York. Ms. Le Draoulec also manages the Hastings, Irvington, Chappaqua, and Bronxville farmers markets, which all have a reputation for being well-curated weekend hubs of their communities.

Before running farmers markets, Ms. Le Draoulec was a newspaper reporter for 18 years. She spent most of those years writing about food, and from 2001 to 2007 she was the lead restaurant critic at the New York Daily News where she won a James Beard award for her reviews.

She is the author of American Pie: Slices of Life and Pie from America’s Back Roads (Harper-Collins, 2002), which chronicles her cross-country road trip in an old Volvo 240 named “Betty” in search of her American roots—and people who still make pie from scratch.

A first-generation American, Le Draoulec was raised in California, in a decidedly French household obsessed with all things “food.” A hard-driving rain always meant foraging for plump snails in the backyard, purging them in a bucket of salt overnight in preparation for escargots a l’ail et au persil.

Ms. Le Draoulec learned to cook (and to make goat cheese and pluck a chicken) while living on a dilapidated dairy farm near Normandy in her 20s—long before there was anything chic or trendy about farm-to-table cuisine. Markets are her happy place.
