Wild Food Medicines: Bronx River Ecology through a Biocultural Lens
June 1, 2025
1 to 3 p.m. | Offsite
Bronx River Community Garden | 180th & Devoe Avenue
Join us for an interactive, hands-on experience that explores the intersection of foraging, plant ecology, seeds, and culture. Guided by Kenneth R. Otero-Walker and DK Kinard, we will walk the garden to examine the influence of plants as sources of wild food and earth medicine. Our discussion will cover a range of topics, including rethinking invasives as beneficial naturalized plants, new perspectives on stewardship, a plant pressing activity, seed exploration, and distribution. Water and light, healthy snacks provided.
