The Album of Plant Families with Wendy Hollender

August 20, 2026

Talk, 10:30 a.m. | Class, 1 p.m.

Much like our own family, plant families share characteristics, often in the arrangement of their flowers, leaves, and stems. Acclaimed botanical artist Wendy Hollender depicts 24 plant families commonly encountered in the garden and in the wild in her newest book, The Album of Plant Families.

From her adventures in collecting each botanical subject near and far to her collaboration with distinguished guest essayists such as Dr. Michael Balick, Vice President for Botanical Science at NYBG; Marta McDowell, best-selling garden writer; and Susan Pell, executive director of the US Botanic Garden—Wendy will share insight into her artistic process to creating this superb, poster-sized collection of plant illustrations.

Copies of The Album of Plant Families will be available for purchase and signing.

Join Wendy in the afternoon for an advanced master class, Drawing Flowers by Family. Separate registration required.
