Maura Rockcastle: Contours of Grief

October 13, 2026

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. | Online

Maura Rockcastle, ASLA, PLA is the co-founder, and principal of TEN x TEN—a transdisciplinary landscape architecture and urban design practice based in Minneapolis, MN that is grounded by a shared curiosity and passion for experimentation, storytelling, and agency.

Across memorials, gardens, and cultural sites of significance, TEN x TEN explores how design can provide spaces to heal and foster resilience, while acknowledging difficult histories. In her presentation, Rockcastle will share a series of project stories shaped by friction, memory, and grief such as the Constellation Garden Remembrance Memorial, a healing space at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the newly restored landscape at the Historic Fort Snelling at Bdote featuring prairies, paths, gathering spaces, overlooks, and messaging that celebrates the site’s layered history.
