From the Mertz Library: ¡Viva Puerto Rico!
As many Puerto Ricans came to the mainland U.S. during the Great Migration, the New York Botanical Garden embraced their culture through its curated exhibition, Puerto Rico, U.S.A. From November 30, 1951 to January 12, 1952, the Haupt Conservatory transformed into a tropical island with plants, fruits, and vegetables native to the island on display.
