Earth Month Celebration 2026

April 1 through 30, 2026

On-site & Online

Every month is Earth Month at NYBG, where we’re dedicated to advancing plant research and conservation at home, in the Bronx, and around the world! We look to plants (and history) for the answers in addressing some of our most pressing environmental challenges. Learn more about NYBG’s work in protecting the Bronx River watershed, restoring forests, and supporting native plants. And check out Before New York, an exhibit that reconstructs what New York City looked like over 400 years ago—and shares how it can shape our future.

Be sure to tune into Season Three of NYBG’s award winning podcast, Plant People, for unique plant stories featuring the American chestnut, ghost orchid, and more. Plus, do your part in your own community with guides on gardening and nurturing green spaces, pollinator gardens, native plants, and climate smart gardens.
