Let’s Botanize® Book Talk & Workshop

April 14, 2026

11 a.m. Book Talk | 1:30 p.m. Workshop | NYBG

A book cover featuring green leaves and the words "Let's Botanize!"A care for plants is a care for the planet, say Ben Goulet-Scott, Ph.D., and Jacob S. Suissa, Ph.D., who are co-founders of Let’s Botanize®—an educational non-profit promoting the hobby of botanizing by spreading curiosity, knowledge, and appreciation of plants through accessible, engaging content.

Learn about their philosophy of democratizing the study of plant biology as they share insights into their new book—Let’s Botanize! 101 Ways to Connect with Plants—a helpful guide that aims to provide an entry point into botanizing through a collection of prompts that implore careful observation of plants.

Copies of Let’s Botanize! will be available for purchase and signing.

Have you heard? Botanizing is the new birding! Join Ben and Jacob in the afternoon for a special workshop at NYBG! Separate registration required.

About the Speakers

Ben Goulet-Scott, Ph.D. and Jacob Suissa, Ph.D. met while earning their doctorates at Harvard University, both following a passion for plants and ambition to make the ecology, evolution, and biodiversity of the plant world—and its importance—easy for everyone to understand. They’ve accomplished this over the last five years through Let’s Botanize, creating accessible and entertaining content without compromising scientific rigor.
