    Enid A. Haupt Conservatory

    Get a special look into the care and keeping of the Haupt Conservatory with our Horticulture staff expert on this tour. Learn about the variety of plants in our permanent collections—including tropical rain forests, cactus-filled deserts, and aquatic and carnivorous plants—and how our staff maintain them.

    Mertz Library, 6th Floor

    As one of the world’s largest and most important botanical and horticultural research libraries, the Mertz Library holds over 12 million items. Join Stephen Sinon, William B. O’Connor Curator of Special Collections, Research and Archives, and explore the treasures within the rare books collection.

    Mertz Library Reading Room

    Join Dr. Fabián A. Michelangeli for a lecture on how NYBG scientists move between herbarium collections, fieldwork abroad, and the research lab in the quest to document biodiversity. Dr. Michelangeli will highlight his recent trips to the Andes and the Amazon and preview new species discovered in these expeditions.

    The William and Lynda Steere Herbarium is the centerpiece of the Garden’s botanical research program. Get a special look at preservation techniques and behind-the-scenes operations with Herbarium staff.

    Join us for a fascinating overview of the Garden’s history and its importance as a vital NYC cultural destination since 1891. With an expert guide, explore the Tulip Tree Allée, the Fountain of Life, the Library, and the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.

    Garden Terrace Room

    Meet fellow Members, browse books from the Mertz Library, and enjoy light refreshments. From 12 to 1:30 p.m., stop by to chat with a Membership staff member and get assistance with downloading your digital Membership card, accessing your digital vouchers, or booking tickets online.
