NYBG is the place to be during summer breaks—for you and your children! Our 250-acre campus inspires amazing adventures of all types—kids spend time making friends, exploring new ideas and trying new activities in a safe and engaging day camp environment, and adults have a chance to explore a new hobby, deepen their connection to the natural world, or simply immerse themselves in the Garden.

Through our adult summer intensive programs, you can build your skills in floral design, gardening, or landscape design in just 3 to 5 weeks with expert guidance and access to unparalleled resources.

2025 Summer Camps for Kids

  • With the reopening of the Everett Children’s Adventure, we are now able to offer summer camp for kids entering Pre-K and Kindergarten in the fall! From woodland walks, sensory play and nature crafts, these little explorers will experience science and nature first hand. Must be fully toilet-trained.

  • Dig in to the summer season! Using the Edible Academy’s greenhouse, classroom building, and gardens, campers will investigate plant growth and learn all about vegetables. Campers will use the NYBG grounds as an outdoor classroom to investigate themes of art and ecology. Children will engage in hands-on gardening, learn about sustainability, and participate in culinary and crafting activities.

  • Dive into the wonders of the natural world this summer at NYBG’s Science Camp! Campers spend the day outdoors on the 250-acre NYBG campus: hiking, experimenting, creating art and playing with their fellow campers and staff. Weekly themes feature junior botanists, woodland adventures and wild wetlands.

  • Do you have a tween who loves spending time outdoors, collecting data, and working in teams? Students will get wet and dirty as they learn more about the plants and animals on the Garden grounds and go behind the scenes to find out about field research happening at the Garden, in the city, and around the world!

2025 Summer Intensives for Adults

  • The Floral Design Certificate Program at NYBG offers the most in-depth training in the region, covering every aspect of this creative art. We’ll help you develop your own aesthetic, master the mechanics for any arrangement, and gain practical business skills.

    In just five weeks, you can complete all classroom credits toward the NYBG Certificate, so you can get started on your internship requirement ASAP. Working one-on-one with floral design professionals, you’ll create dozens of arrangements in diverse styles for many different occasions. This concentrated program focuses on real-world situations, and includes a trip to New York’s flower district.

  • The Gardening Certificate Program at NYBG provides you with the core knowledge, hands-on training, and credentials you need to succeed in any garden setting with complete confidence.

    In just three weeks, complete more than 40% of the coursework required for the Certificate and gain a solid base in the principles of environmentally sound gardening from expert professionals. You’ll also see how these principles are put into practice through curator-led tours of various Garden collections.

  • The Landscape Design Certificate Program at NYBG is an engaging, career-oriented program that gives you a solid, plant-focused foundation along with the skills and confidence you need to start your own business.

    In five weeks, earn 25% of the course hours required for the NYBG Certificate in Landscape Design. Including interactive classes with top landscape architects, designers, and guest lecturers; trips to historic sites; and the Garden’s incomparable resources, this summer program gets your career on the fast track!

Additional Info

  • Summer camp for children starts daily at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Early drop-off (8 a.m.), late pickup (5 p.m.), and extended pickup (until 6 p.m.) is available on a weekly basis.

    Weekly fees: $75 per morning or afternoon, $150 for extended pickup. Late fees apply if children are picked up after their designated checkout time.

    Savings: When you register for one summer camp and one summer intensive program, these weekly fees will be waived.
