You are invited to join us on August 7, 2024 at 5 p.m. as we listen to Dr. Emily Sessa give a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of her recently published field guide to the ferns and lycophytes of eastern North America, including some stories about the plants and people encountered along the way.

Emily Sessa is the Patricia K. Holmgren Director of the William and Lynda Steere Herbarium at the New York Botanical Garden. A graduate of Cornell University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she is a botanist and plant systematist whose research focuses on the ecology and evolution of ferns and lycophytes.
